Zeolite Adsorbents for Selective Removal of Co(II) and Li(I) from Aqueous Solutions

چکیده

Cobalt and lithium are critical metals because of its shortage, difficulty extraction huge economic impact due to their market value. The purpose this work is study selective removal from aqueous solutions in different conditions using two commercial FAU zeolites as adsorbent materials. These solids were characterized by XRD, XRF BET analysis, follow up structure integrity, Si/Al ratio, specific surface area evolutions through preparation process. kinetic indicates that both with a dosage 5 g/L 100% cobalt achievable, while kept around 30% (separation factor 3.33). This selectivity important these frequently appear together leaching form, for example, ion-Li batteries. In relation the adsorption equilibrium, presents finite capacity behavior not observed adsorption. For reason, Langmuir model most adequate represent adsorption, better represented Freundlich model.

New Nano-Adsorbents for the Removal of Chromium (III) and Mercury (II) from Aqueous Solutions

Polyvinyl alcohol/ glycerin- magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (PVAGLPs) have been synthesized successfully by hydrothermal method. The as-prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR). The adsorbed activities of the polyvinyl alcohol/ glycerin- magnetic iron oxide nano particles (PVAGLPs) were ca...

Application of synthetic polymers as adsorbents for the removal of cadmium from aqueous solutions: Batch experimental studies

In the present study seven synthetic polymers were used as adsorbents for the removal of Cd(II) from aqueous solution. The equilibrium studies were systematically carried out in a batch process, covering various process parameters that include agitation time, adsorbent dosage, and pH of the aqueous solution. The analyzing system was an atomic absorption spectrometer (Perkin-Analyst 100). It was...

Efficiency of Modified Zeolite with Cationic Surfactant Hexadecyltrimethylammonium Bromide in Removal of Diazinon from Aqueous Solutions

Background and purpose: Diazinon is one of the most widely used pesticides in agricultural pest control that pollutes water resources. The aim of this study was to evaluate the adsorption of diazinon from water by zeolite modified with cationic surfactant hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (HDTMA). Materials and methods: The amount of HDTMA surfactant used to modify the zeolite was one-fold E...
